Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is the belief that companies have an obligation to society beyond their commitments to their stockholders. Section 135, of the Companies Act 2013 has made it mandatory for the companies to spend 2% of their average net profit for the CSR activities such as activities for eradicating hunger, poverty , education and so on. All NGOs are now required to register with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs if they want to obtain CSR funding from Companies. The Form CSR-1 is termed as Form for “Registration of Entities for undertaking CSR Activities”.
Following type of NGO’s are eligible to file Form CSR-1 on MCA Portal for getting CSR Funding Registered Public Trust under section 12A and 80G of the Income Tax Act 1961.
